A semi-evergreen shrub that forms a multi-branching mound. Tiny leaves are dark green and elliptic. Dark, upright stalks carry intense red, two-lipped flowers held in maroon calyxes. Blooms from late spring to fall. Attracts hummingbirds, other pollinators and beneficial insects.
