Placing Your Order
You have lots of ways to begin an order:

- Email your list to your local store
- Build your order online in our plant catalog
Plant Availability
We carry a huge variety of plants – over 25,000 SKUs – in our fourteen nursery locations in California. We also receive and deliver plants six days a week, all year round. And we allow our customers to drive through our yards and fill their trucks. All that is to say: plant availability changes from day to day.
The best information you can get on what we have in stock is in our online Plant Catalog or our weekly Availability List, but we still have to go verify in the yard!
As soon as your order is submitted, we will begin pulling your plants. Our team will check our stock for quality and availability, and we will get back to you if it’s not in our yard or doesn’t met our standards.
Pro Tip: Fall is a time to more carefully consider your orders for frost-sensitive plants. As winter approaches, the stock in our yard – and in our vendors’ yards – will diminish. Southern California vendors often become our only option for frost-tender items, and special-order material may require a longer lead time.
So what’s a landscape pro do? The best answer is to get your orders in as early as possible for late season installations. If you have questions, talk with your sales representative about your timeline and the options available. Please remember that special order material cannot be cancelled – especially in winter when our hot houses are at capacity – so be sure your clients understand this policy and that your plans are fully formed when you place your order.
Timing
If everything you want is in stock at the yard you want to pick it up from, we can fill your order within hours.
If your order contains plants that are at our other yards, we can transfer them to fill your order. Depending on ag department inspections and the time your order is placed, transfers can take one or two days from a nearby store, or up to two weeks to transfer across the state.
If your order contains plants from one of our vendors, it may take longer than a few days but one of our salespeople will communicate with you every step of the way.
Whenever possible please give us as much lead time as possible. More time gives us the best chance to source your hard to find plants, check for availability, and find appropriate substitutions if needed.
Substitutions
Plants aren’t widgets. They have to be grown. And sometimes the plants specified for a job just aren’t available or aren’t available in the size you’ve requested. In those cases we are happy to offer substitutions and will communicate with you to find a suitable alternative.
When you place your order it is extremely helpful for us to know if you are willing to take substitution suggestions.
Special Orders
