Common Name: Canby's Oak, Sierra Oak

A semi-evergreen tree with a broad, spreading, arching habit. Bark becomes furrowed and gray-brown with age. Dark green leaves are leathery and lance-shaped with shallow, pointed lobes. Inconspicuous female flowers and male catkins yield acorns. Native to Texas and Mexico. Provides habitat and food for numerous animal species.
