An evergreen understory fruit shrub with a delicate form and wiry, sharply-thorned branches. Blossoms are white and pink. Leaves are small and dark green. Limes are elongated and finger-shaped. Rind is green-yellow. Flesh is divided into juicy, lime-flavored vesicles, which resemble caviar. Harvest from late fall to mid winter. Eat raw or processed. Needs protection from winter frost.
