About This Product

Botanical Name: Fremontodendron 'San Gabriel'

Common Name: San Gabriel Hybrid Flannel Bush, Fremontia

A fast-growing evergreen shrub with an upright to arching habit and a broad, open framework. Felty, lobed gray-green leaves contrast with large golden yellow flowers that open from orange-tinted buds in spring. Well suited to native plantings, dry banks, large borders, and informal screening where it receives full sun and well-drained soil. Once established, it performs well with low supplemental irrigation and warm, sunny exposure. Leaf hairs can irritate skin and eyes.
