About This Product

Botanical Name: Fremontodendron 'California Glory'

Common Name: California Glory Hybrid Flannel Bush, Fremontia

A fast-growing evergreen shrub or small tree with an upright, spreading habit and bold architectural structure. Velvety, lobed gray-green foliage provides year-round texture, while large cup-shaped yellow flowers with orange-red backs bloom heavily in spring to early summer. Useful as a specimen, informal screen, espalier, or dry slope shrub where full sun, good drainage, and low summer irrigation support best performance. Best sited with room to mature and away from high-contact areas, as the leaf hairs can irritate skin and eyes.

USDA Zone: Zones 8 - 10

Sunset Zone: Zones 4 - 24

Mature Height: 15 - 20 feet

Mature Width: 10 - 15 feet

Light Needs: Full Sun

Water Needs: Low
