An evergreen perennial shrub. Leaves are large, furry, gray-green, and arranged in opposite pairs. Tiny, fragrant flowers grow in clusters of red and pink. Attracts many California native pollinators and beneficial insects, especially caterpillars of the Monarch butterfly.
