A vigorously spreading vine with twining stems. Forms a sprawling ground cover, or train on a structure. Oval foliage is burgundy-green. Purple-red flowers with white-yellow centers are two-lipped and fragrant. Blooms in spring and summer. Attracts pollinators and hummingbirds. Semi-evergreen in warmer climates.
