About This Product

Botanical Name: Leymus arenarius 'Blue Dune', Elymus

Common Name: Blue Dune Blue Lyme Grass, Blue Rye

A semi-evergreen, rhizomatous perennial grass with an upright, spreading habit. Broad, metallic blue-gray blades form bold clumps that provide strong color contrast in mass plantings, coastal landscapes, dry slopes, and large containers. Wheat-colored flower spikes rise above the foliage in summer. Best placed where its vigorous spread is useful for fast coverage, erosion control, or contained in planters. Thrives in sandy, well-drained soils and performs well with coastal exposure, wind, salt, and heat.
