An herbaceous semi-evergreen shrub with a mounding habit. Spreads by rhizomes. Bright red, trumpet-shaped flowers bloom in summer and fall. Leaves are felt-textured, linear to oval, and gray-green. Native to western United States, and northern Mexico.
