A dwarf deciduous tree with a weeping, umbrella-like growth habit. Broad, soft, heart-shaped leaves grow in blackish red to golden rose. Stunning clusters of lavender purple, sweetpea-like flowers bloom on bare branchlets in early spring. Native to eastern North America.
