An evergreen shrub with an upright, rounded growth habit. In spring, buds bloom into loose clusters of pinkish white flowers. Fragrance is disliked by some. Sparse, showy red to black fruits attract birds. Foliage is dark green. Leaves are glossy, elliptical, and deeply veined.
