Common Name: Sandpaper Verbena, Slender Vervain

A tender deciduous perennial that spreads by rhizomes and self-seeding to form an upright mat. In summer, forked, square stems carry rounded clusters of dainty, purple flowers. Attracts butterflies and other pollinators. Leaves are dark green, lance-shaped, and have coarsely toothed edges. Leaf texture is rough like sandpaper.
