Common Name: Santa Barbara Mexican Bush Sage, Velvet Sage

A semi-evergreen shrub that forms a slowly spreading mound, more compact than the species. Dark gray-green leaves are lance-shaped, white and hairy below, and aromatic. Long, sweeping stalks carry two-lipped, bright purple flowers held in fuzzy, deep purple calyxes. Blooms from spring through fall in mild climates. Attracts hummingbirds, other pollinators and beneficial insects. Native to Mexico.
