A warm-season ornamental grass with a compact, vase-like form. Showy flower plumes in creamy-buff are fuzzy, fluffy and bottlebrush-like. From early summer into fall, feathery blooms top the slender leaf blades. Green foliage flushes red in spring and summer, turning fully bright burgundy in fall. Fine in containers. Tolerates drought and poor soils.
