A deciduous clinging vine that attaches itself to surfaces by suction disks called holdfasts. Forms a dense screen or groundcover. Foliage is bronze-green, purple-tinged and silver-veined with red undersides. The palmate leaves turns a rich red color in fall. Showy clusters of small, blue-black berries in fall.
