Botanical Name: Opuntia ficus-indica 'Burbank Spineless'

Common Name: Barbary Fig, Fig Opuntia

A true cactus that spreads to form a shrubby fence. Blue-green cladodes are flat, rounded and pad-like. Widely spaced areoles lack spines. Large flowers are followed by sweet, prickly-pear fruits. Fruit ripens in summer. The fruits (tunas) and the flesh of the cladodes (nopales) are edible.
