Common Name: Helene Strybing New Zealand Tea Tree, Manuka

An evergreen shrub with an upright, irregular branching habit and dense foliage. Green, needle-like leaves sometimes tinge pink in cool weather. Larger, fall-spring flowers are saucer-shaped, single, and light pink with a dark pink center. Bark is shaggy and gray-brown.
