Young leaves are heart-shaped, delicate, and variegated dark green with irregular white edges. Mature leaves are larger, elliptic, leathery, and also variegated. Popular as an indoor plant. Inedible, pear-shaped fruits sporadically develop on outdoor plants. Root system spreads invasively.
