Common Name: Mattole River Humboldt County Fuchsia

An herbaceous semi-evergreen shrub with a tidy, clumping habit. Spreads by rhizomes. Trumpet-shaped flowers appear in vibrant scarlet red. Blooms in summer and fall. Pollinated by hummingbirds. Silver leaves are felty, pointed, oval, and larger than those of E. canum. Native to California, the West, and northern Mexico.
