Common Name: Coast Sunflower, California Brittlebrush

A bushy perennial shrub that does well on the coast, on slopes, and in poor soils. Leaves are gray-green, textured, and roughly diamond-shaped. Daisy-like flowers show off bright yellow petals and dark brown centers. Blooms are prolific in spring and fall, though less vigorous in the heat of summer. Very attractive to pollinators. Native to Southern California.
