An annual or biennial bulb that blooms with showy flower clusters amongst tufts of grassy foliage. Disk-shaped flowers feature petals with notched edges and white stamens. Colors range from white to shades of pink, red, or purple. Some cultivars are bicolored. Attracts bees and butterflies. Makes a good cut flower. Flowers are edible.
