About This Product

Botanical Name: Brachychiton rupestris

Common Name: Narrow-Leaf Bottle Tree, Queensland Bottle Tree

A swollen bottle-shaped trunk gives this semi-deciduous, upright tree a striking sculptural form. Narrow green leaves cast light shade, and small cream flowers carry red markings before woody pods form. Native to dry eastern Australia, it suits hot streetscapes and courtyards. Sun and deep, well-drained soil support the trunk; pod hairs can irritate skin.
