A deciduous tree with an oval crown and red branchlets. Palmate leaves with 3 - 5 lobes grow in medium to dark green with dull, blue-gray undersides. Fall foliage enlivens with brilliant reds and purples. Showy spring flowers in greenish-yellow attract birds, butterflies, and squirrels. Male seedless selection; does not produce fruit. Native to Eastern North America. Needs mildly acidic soil, tolerates clay soils.
