A deciduous shrub with an upright, tiered branching habit. From spring to fall, buds bloom into flat-topped clusters of off-white, lacecap flowers. Showy bright red fruits attract birds. Medium green foliage turns red in fall. Leaves are broadly elliptical, deeply veined, and toothed on the edges.
