A deciduous shrub with a full, rounded form. Adaptable to pruning. Shiny red branchlets are ornamental in winter. Catkins form in spring. Slender, variegated leaves are dappled in pale green and cream. New growth is lovely pink. Prefers wetland and riparian habitats.
