Common Name: Sugar Bush, Sumac

An evergreen shrub with a neat, upright, round growth habit. Dark green foliage is egg-shaped, pointed, and leathery. Spring, white-pink flower clusters are followed by fuzzy red fruits that are tasty in lemonade-type drinks. Fruits are smaller than those of R. integrifolia. Attracts birds. Good for erosion control. Southern California native. Likes hot, dry climates.
