An evergreen shrub with a round, compact habit. Mid spring bloom. Funnel-shaped flowers grow in large, globe-shaped trusses. Flowers are scarlet red. Attracts butterflies, bees and hummingbirds. Dark green leaves are elliptic and leathery. Dependable and widely adapted. Hardy to -5 degrees F. Needs acidic soil, pH 4.5 - 6.0.
