Common Name: Chestnut-Leaved Oak

A deciduous tree with a tall and rounded crown of oblong to lanceolate, moderately serrated, deep green leaves that resemble those of a chestnut. Bark becomes furrowed and grayish-brown with age. Inconspicuous female flowers and male catkins yield one inch long acorns.
