Common Name: Leatherleaf Mahonia, Beale's Barberry

An evergreen shrub with upright, suckering branches and horizontal foliage. Long, compound leaves are glossy green and holly-like with spiny edges. Clusters of yellow flowers in early spring are followed by blue-black berries in early summer. Attracts birds and bees. Native to Asia.
