Common Name: Purple Wood Spurge

An evergreen perennial that forms a low, upright bush. Slender, dull green leaves turn dark ruby-purple in fall. New growth comes in red. Chartreuse-green inflorescences display showy bracts that cup tiny true flowers. Blooms cluster atop red stems in spring. Attracts butterflies. All plant parts contain a toxic milky sap.
