Botanical Name: Duchesnea indica

Common Name: Indian Strawberry, Mock Strawberry

A trailing evergreen groundcover that resembles strawberry, but with smaller, nearly tasteless fruit. Glossy green leaflets stay low to the ground. Tiny yellow flowers appear from late spring to early fall. Leaves, flowers, and fruits are said to be medicinal and edible. Attracts birds. Native to East Asia.
