Common Name: Tom Knudsen Camellia

An understory evergreen shrub with an upright growth habit. Flowers are midsize to large, double, and either formal, peony, or rose form. Petals are bright red with dark red venation. Blooms from October to March in California. Leaves are glossy, dark green, and have finely serrated edges. Can tolerate full shade. Needs acidic soil, pH 5.1 - 6.0.
