Botanical Name: Aster chilensis Dwarf, Symphyotrichum chilense

Common Name: California Aster

A spreading, herbaceous perennial with leafy green stems and late-season daisy-like lavender flowers with yellow centers. This California native provides nectar for butterflies and beneficial insects when many summer flowers are fading. Useful in meadows, borders, and habitat plantings. Performs best with good drainage and occasional summer irrigation.
