Botanical Name: Arctostaphylos 'Lester Rowntree'

Common Name: Lester Rowntree Manzanita

A woody evergreen shrub with an upright, open growth habit. Branches are crooked and sculptural with exfoliating red bark. Small, blue-green leaves are rounded to egg-shaped. Clusters of pink, drooping, urn-shaped flowers attract many bird species. The berries are edible. Native to California. Tolerates serpentine and clay soils.
