A perennial with upright stems, multi-branching from the base. Blue-green, purple-tinged leaves are lance-shaped and oppositely arranged. Spikes of nodding, bell-shaped flowers are dark bluish purple. Blooms from late spring to fall. Attractive to hummingbirds and other pollinators. Longer lived than most other penstemons.
