Common Name: Red Gem Cone Bush

An evergreen shrub with red, upright stems and a compact, bushy form. Slender leaves are mid-green, tinted red on the edges and tips. Foliage tints red in fall. Flowers are made up of red bracts that surround cones. Blooms at branch tips in winter and spring. Long-lasting cut flower. Likes acidic soils. Does not tolerate phosphorous fertilizers.
