Common Name: Shirobana Chocolate Vine, Fiveleaf Akebia

A woody deciduous vine with rich green, palmate leaves that divide into five oval leaflets. Dangling clusters of white flowers produce long, purple seed pods with an edible white pulp that ripens in fall. Fruits more reliably when cross-pollinated with another cultivar. Provide trellis for climbing. Can tolerate full shade.
