A shrub-like deciduous tree with a broad, semi-weeping crown. Very lacy, deeply-lobed, palmate leaves divide into 5 to 9 pointed lobes. Leaves are a bugundy-green color that holds well throughout the summer, then becomes bright red in the fall. Inconspicuous spring flowers are followed by pairs of pink samaras. Needs mildly acidic soil.
