A rounded, upright deciduous tree with a cascading form. Lacy, deeply-lobed palmate leaves divide into 5 to 9 pointed lobes. Red-purple leaves maintain color throughout summer. Foliage becomes a brilliant, crimson red in the fall. Inconspicuous spring flowers are followed by pairs of samaras. Needs mildly acidic soil.
